November 2015 – The IDVisor Z22 has been chosen by the University of Portland for its on-campus café and bar. The recently renovated Pilot House will use the portable, handheld IDVisor Z22 to efficiently verify the age of any patron attempting to purchase alcohol. The device can read IDs from all 50 states, using either the 2D barcode or the magnetic stripe, and it boasts a flagging feature for problematic patrons, as well as an ‘anti pass-back’ feature that can alert bartenders to an ID being shared among patrons. While the ID scanner will primarily be used in the Pilot House, its built-in rechargeable batteries mean it will also be useful for scanning IDs at future university-hosted age-restricted events held in other venues. Check out the newspaper article about the new scanner here.
