Fake IDs are becoming more difficult to detect.

At Chicago’s O’Hare Airport alone, Customs and Border Protection officers have seized nearly 20,000 counterfeit IDs in the first six months of 2020.

These fake documents were included in overseas shipments, mainly coming from China and Hong Kong. Other locations included South Korea and Britain.

The CBP are saying that these documents are extremely realistic – documents that average barcode scanners, such as downloadable ones from a smart phone’s app store, cannot detect whatsoever. This is because these fake IDs are embedded with accurate data that matches the front of the driver’s license.
